Fishers SONAR VIEW allows real-time viewing of the sonar images and saving data on the computer’s hard drive. In addition to the sonar images, other data such as the boat’s GPS position, time, and date can also be displayed and stored. The operator can play the recorded files back at any time. Software functions include post-processing of data and editing of files. Small file sections, including screenshots, can be copied for emailing. Operators can use a sizing tool to show target size. An image enhancement tool kit lets the operator select various color schemes and manipulate color and intensity of displayed images. Other software features include a print delay to remove the water column from the display, a bottom tracking line that indicates the position of the first return from the seabed, zoom capability, and calculation of the target’s GPS position. The fish’s distance off the bottom is continuously displayed, and a tool to measure target height is included. Annotations and waypoints can be added to the screen and are saved as part of the record.
