Final Voyage - Passenger & Crew Tribute

Sir Henry Seton Kerr
[submitted by Joanne N. Crack]

My ancestors originate from Scotland, bearing the name Kerr. There are many spellings of this name, eg., Karr, Carr, Ker, Carre, etc. One of the co-founders to my site has just returned from the Borders of Scotland. He found a Ledger Stone in the Nave of the Melrose Abby in Melrose, Scotland that indicated:

"......dedicated to a family of Karrs from Kippilaw, Sir Henry Seton Karr, C.M.C.D.L., of Kippilaw, Scotland lost in the wreck of the Empress of Ireland in the St. Lawrence River, May 29, 1914...."
