Final Voyage - Passenger & Crew Tribute

Captain Henry Kendall
and General Manager of CPR at the time of the Empress Sinking
Cmdr. John T. Walsh

[submitted by Greg Walsh]

I have attached 2 photos of some memorabilia I have from my grandfather Cmdr. John T. Walsh who was General Manager of  CP ships at the time and a life long friend of Capt Kendell. I thought you might be interested in seeing them. The Empress photo is from Lord Mersey's Inquiry with Kendall's notation on the bottom and the second  a photo of his reward for caturing Krippen , also contains his notation.  The photographs are from Capt Kendall to my grandfather.  They had been friends for some years.

I have attached 3 others photographs.  The first is a photo of Kendall leaving the funeral mass of the Empress Tradegy , the photo is from a Montreal paper . The man on his right holding his arm is my grandfather Cmnd. Walsh.  The second is an old postcard of the two ships involved.  The third is one of the articles of my grandfather's death in 1928 (my father being the youngest of his 9 children at the time he was 24).
