The "Dive Ray" gun is about the size and shape of an automotive timing light with near neutral buoyancy underwater. To operate, just point and shoot by pulling the trigger like a hand gun, there are no other switches or preparation needed. It only uses battery power when the trigger is pulled.

To find objects underwater, you point the gun at a starting direction and scan the area around you by changing direction while "shooting" and the display will continuously update as objects appear by the changing distances displayed on the digital numeric screen in front of you.

Display is digital, 1/2 inch high number showing the distance to the nearest object in the direction the gun is being pointed. It is backlit and easily visible in dark murky water. The unit was originally designed for the US Navy. The numeric display is dynamic and changes instantly and smoothly as the distance changes and the display is right in front of your face for easy viewing.

When the sonar is not detecting a valid echo, one of two things happen...It will display the last good reading by flashing it on the screen or if it does not have a last good number in memory, it will flash two minus signs on the screen.
