Dual frequency and single
frequency side scan sonar for locating objects on the ocean floor.
The Fishers SSS-100K/600K dual
frequency side scan sonar represents a major price/performance breakthrough
in low cost side scan systems. A single frequency side scan (100K or 600K)
is available at an even lower cost. The single frequency systems can be
updated to a dual frequency system any time.

The 600K
single frequency side scan is ideal for law enforcement and dive rescue
operations because of it's very high resolution over ranges up to
200'(400' swath). The higher frequency can show targets (drowning
victims, clothing, etc) that lower frequency (100K to 300K) systems have
difficulty detecting. The limitation of the 600K system is shorter range
as compared to lower frequency side scan. However, the higher resolution
of the high frequency is ideal when searching for small targets. |

The 100K
single frequency system is best for wreck hunting or general search
applications. It has excellent long range capabilities of up to 1,800'
per side (3,600' swath).
The dual
frequency (100K/600K) side scan gives the operator the best of both
systems. It allows 600K operation (very high resolution) when searching
for small or soft targets and 100K operation when searching for larger
targets or covering wide search areas. |

A 17"
wide thermal printer provides a detailed picture of the ocean floor and
profile images of any object laying on the bottom. The high resolution
of the print-out, at 203 dots per inch, is three times that of color
monitor displays.
An
optional computer hardware/software package is also available. The image
is displayed on a monitor as shown below. See the Order Page for more

Extra cable
Fishers side scan sonar come equipped
with a 150 foot cable. Longer lengths of cable are available up to a
maximum of 500 feet.
Analog output (for computer input)
a 0-5vdc analog output option allows
the side scan sonar information to be put into a format for input into a
computer's analog port. It is necessary to have software to display,
manipulate, and store the side scan data.

Laptop and Sonar VIEW software
The new computer hardware and
software offered by Fishers lets their side scan system output to both a
high resolution 17" wide thermal printer and also a computer, providing the
best of both worlds. The computer system gives the side scan operator a
variety of options for displaying and enhancing the sonar image. The
software allows selection of several different color schemes, enlargement of
targets, and manipulation of side scan controls such as slant range
correction and water column removal. In addition, the computer system will
accept data input from other devices. GPS position information can be sent
to the PC for display and storage along with the side scan data. Position
coordinates, target size and height are displayed with a click of the mouse. |

220 vac
The side scan is designed to be
powered by a 120 vac voltage supply. If the available voltage supply is
220 vac, this 220/120 vac step down transformer will reduce the supply
voltage to the required input voltage.
12 vdc
The side scan is designed to be
powered by a 120 vac voltage supply. If the available voltage supply is
12 vdc, this 12 vdc/120 vac inverter will convert the supply voltage to
the required input voltage.
